The Bergen Summer Research School (BSRS) has completed its first period (2008-2012) and is now entering a new phase as part of a priority of the University of Bergen´s new Strategic Plan for 2011-2015. The 2013 edition of the BSRS will focus on “Food as a Global Development Challenge”. 5 parallel doctoral/ research courses are offered, which will be bound together by joint lectures by high-profile keynote speakers, plenary discussions, and activities that promote societal involvement. In addition to the doctoral courses, a set of plenary sessions and public meetings will reach out to the wider community in the overall perspective of global challenges.
