Job Applications, Interviews, and Transitioning into Your First Academic Job
How do you position yourself for your first academic role, both in your application documents and during the interview? This practical session will provide strategies, tips and examples of how to approach the academic job application process with confidence.

By the end of the session, you should be able to:

  • Recognise and articulate your strengths as a researcher, and provide clear evidence that you meet the selection criteria for academic roles.
  • Communicate your suitability effectively, using compelling accomplishment stories and engaging interview responses.
  • Make a strong impression throughout the interview process and beyond, by asking thoughtful questions, leaving a positive impact on the panel, and taking practical steps to make a successful start to your new role.
