A WUN-funded research project, aimed at strengthening nurses’ capacity to address the upstream social determinants of health in their practice, and conducted by the University of Alberta, the University of Auckland, the University of Leeds, Mahidol University, and the University of Technology Sydney, is now inviting WUN members to participate in the next stage of the project.
The project team from the University of Technology Sydney comprises Dr Natalie Cutler, Associate Professor in Nursing; Dr Albie Sharpe; Distinguished Professor Tracy Levett-Jones; Dr Priya Saravanakumar; Dr Chuti Chutiyami; Associate Professor Deb Debono; and Professor Michele Rumsey (WHO Collaborating Centre).
Building on the success of our 2024 global Symposia, we are excited to move forward into the next stage of the project. We are conducting a real-time online Delphi survey (ETH24-9879: The Critical Role of Nurses in Addressing Upstream Social Determinants of Health to identify strategies and challenges in integrating upstream social determinants of health (SDoH) into nursing practice. The study aims to develop expert consensus to inform best-practice guidelines.
As an important representative group, we are pleased to invite WUN members to participate because of your expertise in factors influencing health outcomes and the critical role nurses play in improving health equity. Your input will help shape recommendations and best practices for nursing worldwide.
Participation involves interacting with a secure, asynchronous online survey, with each session taking approximately 20 minutes. Unlike a traditional Delphi study, a real-time Delphi allows you to engage multiple times to add or edit your responses and to view progressive consensus data and comments via a dashboard. You can participate as often as you like while the survey is live.
The study is funded by the Worldwide Universities Network, and all responses are confidential, encrypted, and reported only in aggregate. Participation is voluntary, and you may withdraw at any time.
