The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) hosted the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) Summer School 2018 themed “Designing and Creating Sustainable Communities” during 1-9 July 2018 and welcomed 45 bright minded students of 19 nationalities, including 10 students from four WUN member universities, namely the Universities of Auckland, Nairobi, Sheffield, and York.
In a fruitful sequence of expert lectures, workshops, social events, group work, networking, and field trips to key sites such as the Jao Tsung-I Academy, Blue House Cluster, Sai Ying Pun, and Mapopo Community Farm, participating students learned about innovative best practices in sustainable city development from local and international specialists and discussed how to set a new urban agenda in their home countries. The students thoroughly enjoyed the activities and had a wonderful time with their peers on CUHK campus.
The Summer School programme was developed by senior academics from the Urban Studies Programme at CUHK. For more information, please click here.
