THE and WUN join forces to strengthen the global voice and impact of higher education

As higher education comes under a sharp spotlight in today’s fragmented and challenging world, two organisations committed to the importance of universities’ societal impact through education and research have come together to identify ways to strengthen sectoral confidence.

The Worldwide Universities Network (WUN), with its 23 member institutions and Times Higher Education (THE) have agreed to deepen international collaboration and amplify the role of universities in addressing the world’s most pressing challenges. 

At a time when universities seek to fully demonstrate their impact, strengthen international partnerships, and deliver solutions to complex global issues, THE and WUN share the belief that collaboration is a critical vehicle for achieving these goals.

By combining THE’s global reach and influential platforms with WUN’s expertise and experience in global research initiatives, this collaboration aims to create new opportunities to accelerate progress on sustainability-focused research and to showcase the value of higher education to communities around the world.

WUN Executive Director Professor Dawn Freshwater says higher education must restore trust and build visibility worldwide.  “Collaborating with Times Higher Education will help us actively contribute to this global endeavour.”

THE’s APAC President Mei Mei Lim says the partnership is committed to making a difference. “We look forward to working with WUN to advance collaborative research, expand connections across Asia, and help build a more connected and impactful global higher education community.”
